Privacy Policy
This page explains what personal data we collect on tibetanevents.com, why, and what rights you have, wherever in the world you are. We keep it short and honest.

1. Who is responsible
Tibetan Events Worldwide (tibetanevents.com) is a volunteer initiative with team members in Switzerland and the United States, made for Tibetans and friends of Tibet everywhere in the world. It is not a registered organisation or company. Contact: info@tibetanevents.com. Write to this address for any question about your data.
2. Just visiting
Our hosting provider (Hostinger) and our security plugin (Wordfence) automatically record technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you open and the time of access. This is needed to deliver the site and to block attacks. The logs are kept for a short period and then deleted.
The site is cached and delivered through LiteSpeed. Fonts are loaded from our own server, not from Google.
3. Statistics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and from which countries visitors come. Google sets cookies and processes data on servers in the United States and other countries. IP addresses are anonymised by Google Analytics 4. You can block this with a browser add-on from Google or with a tracker blocker. We do not run advertising on the site.
4. Embedded services
Some pages contain YouTube videos and Google Maps. When such a page opens, your browser connects to Google and Google may set cookies and record your visit. Buttons for WhatsApp, Google Calendar and Outlook only send data to those services when you tap them.
5. Submitting an event
When you submit an event we store the organizer name, email, phone or WhatsApp number (if given), the poster, guest names and guest photos, and the event details. The organizer name and the contact details you provide are shown on the event page so visitors can reach you. Email and phone are also used by our volunteers to ask about the listing. Posters and event details stay online in our archive of past events. You can ask us at any time to change or delete them.
6. Sending a poster
If you send a poster through the quick form, we store the image, your phone or WhatsApp number and your note so we can enter the event and contact you with questions. We delete the number once the event is published, unless you are the organizer and want it shown.
7. Tibetan language class registration
The registration form collects a child’s first name, year of birth, country and a parent’s email or phone. We use this only to organise the class and to contact the parent. The data is sent by email to our team and deleted after the class period ends.
8. Email
Form messages reach us by email through our mail provider. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request, then deleted.
9. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us which data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its use. Write to info@tibetanevents.com and we will answer within 30 days. These rights follow from the laws that apply to our visitors, including the EU and UK GDPR, the Swiss Data Protection Act, US state privacy laws such as the California CCPA, and the privacy laws of Canada, Australia, India and other countries. You may also complain to the data protection authority of your country.
10. Changes
We may update this policy; the current version is always on this page.
