Tibetan events in Brazil

Tibet House Brasil grew out of the visits of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama to Brazil in 1992, 1999, 2006 and 2011, organised by Professor Lia Diskin and her supporters. The non-profit civil association was signed and registered on 1 April 2014, with Tsewang Phuntso as its first Executive Director and Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for Latin America. It opened to the public on 8 November 2015 with a talk by Daniel Goleman on the vision of the Dalai Lama, and began its activities on 1 March 2016, at Losar. Jigme Tsering became Executive Director on 5 March 2020 and moved its activities online during the pandemic. On 1 November 2023 Tibet House Brasil held its second inauguration at its current address, Rua Guarará, 108, Loja 2, São Paulo. Its director today is Ven. Thubten Wangchen.
